This endowment was established in 2015 with a donation from the Tao Family, who believe that peace and harmony will be achieved in today’s world through advanced education and by collaboratively working together. It is awarded to a full time graduate or undergraduate mathematics or business administration major who is participating in a university project that enhances their educational experience at Western.

Professor Edwin Rosenberg Scholarship (2015, 2016 Recipient)

The Professor (Emeritus) Edwin Rosenberg Scholarship was established with funds received from his former student, Doris Lundberg, M.D. This scholarship honors Professor Rosenberg’s inspiration to a generation of WCSU students through his excellence and dedication to the teaching of mathematics. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time mathematics major with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated financial need.

Roberta B.Willis Scholarship

CT resident who attend Western Connecticut State University full time. Recipient must have a federal Expected Family Contribution (EFC) within the allowable range.

W. Jason & Ellen Hancock Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2000 by W. Jason and Ellen M. Hancock to provide scholarship support for needy students with a 3.0 GPA who have earned 45 credits.

ECMC Scholar Award

By reaching students early in high school, the ECMC Scholars Program gives students the skills and resources to realize their college goals. Developed for students in Oregon, Virginia and Connecticut. Our candidates go through a rigorous two-year mentoring program in their junior and senior years of high school. If they succeed in the program, they can earn up to $6,000 for college.

Junior Varsity Sportmanship Award

This award recognizes Danbury high school boys'track and field athlete who have possessed the attitudes and demonstrated sportsmanship's core values. These athletes care for their teammates and their opponents and treat all with respect and kindness. They understand the spirit of competition and are gracious in victory and defeat.
